Business: Second Hand trousers.
Location:
Chanuka Market, Kitale.
Years in Operation:
2 Years.
Amount needed:
$300.

For the last two years, Yvette has done the one thing she had desired to do for as long as she remembers. She started a business and she has kept at it in spite of the start up challenges that her business just like many other start ups face. She has learned as fast as the need has forced her to, how to deal with suppliers as well as all of her unique clients. At the beginning she almost gave up when she wasn’t making as many sales as she had imagined she would. Two days in a row or more would go by without her having closed a single sale and she was getting desperate. Thanks to support from her husband and advise from other second hand clothes vendors in the market she held on.

Now two years later she is very glad that she did not quit. She has won to her business both men and women from Kitale town for she sells trousers mostly denim for both genders. The youth are her biggest clientele for she stocks trends that most impress them. She has learned the market forces of demand and supply and plays along just fine. The mother of one school going child is able to make a sizeable contribution towards school fees for the child and the family’s basic needs and this brings her so much fulfillment and joy.

She is seeking $300 from Moto Hope Micro lending to purchase more stock to be able to meet the increased demand from her customers especially this festive season.
