Yunifrida Kerubo is a jovial single mother of four whose hard work and determination has seen three of them through school. She trades in tomatoes and onions in Molo’s main market, a venture she has successfully practiced for the last thirteen years.

Proceeds from it have seen her three children through high school and she is still using the same to pay for the education of one child still in school. The trade is also what enables her to settle her house rent as well as bills and other household expenses.

She buys her stock from suppliers in Nakuru who buy directly from farmers and also from small scale farmers and middlemen in Molo. She is very selective of where to make purchases depending on the seasons and demand in the market. She always focuses on getting the best for the least amount and her knowledge on the market forces in both Molo and Nakuru comes in handy all the time.

She is seeking $100 from Moto Hope Micro-Lending to be able to increase her stock so as to improve her sales this festive season. She predicts a good season and is optimistic that her earnings will enable her settle the school fees balances of her daughter as well as help her business to stabilize.
