Tabitha Wanjira is a dedicated business lady whose determination is guided by her desire to see her children get all the opportunities and chances in life that will ensure a better life for them in future. She has sold second hand shoes in Molo’s open air market for the last four years. Her earnings together with those of her husband’s, a teacher, enable them to cater for their basic needs as well as educate their two school going children. Tabitha takes the third born who is still a toddler, to the market with her to cut on baby sitting expenses.
There are many worthy competitors in the market and Tabitha’s selling point is her calm yet aggressive nature that allows her to catch any potential customer’s eye. She has a way with words and most of her sales are thanks to her convincing power. The shoes she sells are relatively cheap and her main challenge is the struggle to get good quality stock at pocket friendly prices.
Tabitha is seeking $300 to be able to increase her stock as well as improve on the quality of the shoes she orders. To be able to stay in competition she quips, she has to do better than her business rivals. With MHML’s credit she says, she will be better placed to place bigger and better orders and increase her sales which will in turn translate into higher profits.
