Peter Ndegwa is a multifaceted business man whose enterprising nature has him engaged in various business activities. For the last eleven years, his restaurant has fed many people in Kaloleni area many of whom have been loyal all the while. The area hosts many informal sector businesses as well as innumerable small and medium sized enterprises and these business people account for the most percentage of his clientele.
Moto Hope Micro Lending has journeyed with him and thus far loaned him $600. He is now seeking $500 to inject into the restaurant still. This is the third time he is applying for a business loan and is happy that MHML’s low interest rates financing as well as friendly repayment terms have been the major contributor of the successes his restaurant currently enjoys. The loans allow him to purchase dry food stuff as well ac cereals in bulk from suppliers which enable him to enjoy lower prices and always assure him of constant stock to meet the ever increasing demand from his customers.
Besides his wife who oversees things at the restaurant on a daily basis, he has created employment for four other people who are able to earn a living from working for him. The father of three school going children has two other businesses to his name. He has a furniture workshop in Molo’s Keep-Left bus park area where he has created employment for two carpenters. The gifted men make very beautiful and durable furniture for sale.
He is also involved in the public transport industry for he has a matatu which operates the Molo-Nakuru route. Here again, he has created employment for two more people. He moves easily between the three businesses making sure that all the customers are served well and his employees are performing their duties as required and enjoying their work while at it.
The proceeds from his businesses are what enable him to pay for the education of his three school gong children. They have enabled him to buy land and build his own home where he lives with his wife and children. They practice subsistence farming which assures them of food security all year round.The restaurant performs better than the other two ventures bringing him the most profits and he is eager to see it scale upwards.
