Demand for clothes has hit the roof this month. Many parents are flocking the market to buy their children new clothes for the Christmas festivities  and boutiques are a favorite for many of them to shop. Kitale’s Makutano center has not been left out and boutique business owners are having a field day. Mary Wanjiru is one among the happy business people this festive season. She is impressed by the number of new customers as well as the old ones that are streaming into her business to make purchases.

Her boutique is just one year old and despite being relatively new she is enjoying quite the market share. She stocks very good quality clothes and this has set her apart from other similar businesses. She purchases her stock from Nairobi’s Eastleigh market and is availed with a very wide variety to choose from. She thus makes the best choices and latest trends of ladies’, men’s and children’s clothes as well as shoes for all the aforementioned. The mother of one school going child is able to pay school fees and provide for her family from earnings from the business.

She is seeking $300 from Moto Hope micro Lending to bring in more stock to be able to satisfy the demand from her last minute shoppers. Some of her most loyal customers have placed new orders of shoes and dresses that she currently lacks in stock and she is not about to miss out on the chance to maximize on sales this Christmas season. Next year’s school fees for her child depend on this period’s sales she says.
