Martha is a God fearing and much focused business lady in Molo town. She is well known for stocking and supplying durable and choice quality of motor cycle spare parts. Her loyal customers keep going back thanks to her excellent business ethic as well as the fact that they get value for their money. For the last twelve years, Martha’s shop was in a little known corner of a building in one of Molo’s streets and she depended fully on her loyal customers to refer more new clients.
At the beginning of this year (2020), Martha shifted to a bigger and more strategically located building. Her shop now sits right next to the busy major street and it is bigger and better with enough space for expansion. Despite the Corona virus pandemic that has affected people and businesses worldwide, Martha continues to trust in God’s providence as she seeks to meet her clients’ needs.
Even with the current lower returns from the business, Martha has created employment for two young ladies who had lost jobs when the shops they worked in shut down. She gains a lot of fulfillment knowing that thanks to her business, the families of the two women can fend for themselves thanks to the incomes they earn. They are pleasant and hardworking and she has no regrets giving them the opportunity. Besides the spare parts, Martha now also stocks refreshments, masks and sanitizer due to the risen demand for these items.
Besides the total of $300 that Moto Hope Micro Lending advanced to her mid-2019, Martha received a further $300 loan in April 2020 which she used to purchase more stock of motor cycle spare parts. Motor cycle taxi riders popularly known as bodabodas are now the choice mode of transport for many people in and outside Molo town as everyone tries to maintain social distance while avoiding crowded public transport to keep safe from covid-19. Thus it goes without saying that the riders need their motor cycles to be in great condition assuring Martha of continued business.
