Judy is a very enterprising young lady who is aggressive about accomplishing her goals and business objectives. She is working smart towards ensuring that her business scales upwards to be able to provide comfortably for the needs of her family and to stay in profitable business. Her stall is colorfully packed with fresh fruits; mangoes, bananas and avocados. She also stocks onions and tomatoes.
She sells on both wholesale and retail modes. Once her supply arrives on Fridays, she sells on wholesale basis to other retailers who literally scramble for her wares. This is mainly due to the fact that she sells fresh produce that she buys directly from farmers in the agricultural town of Kisii. She sells at very affordable prices to these small scale traders and has been able to retain their loyalty. Some of the traders sell in the same Molo market while others sell in markets outside Molo.
Whatever remains after selling to these traders is what she stocks in her stalls. She has two stalls, the main one in Molo’s main market and another in Reli Center in Molo. She has engaged the services of her mother who would otherwise stay at home with little to do. So that when she is selling at Reli stall her mother stands in for her at Molo Market. Both stalls are running profitable businesses for her. Her best days are on market days; Wednesday and Saturdays for people who buy for domestic consumption and Fridays for traders who buy on wholesale basis.
She is seeking $100 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to be able to buy additional stock of tomatoes, avocados and bananas which are the most fast moving of her trade items. The successful operation of her business is vital for her family’s survival. Her business enables her to pay for the school fees needs of her three children, caters for their basic needs as well as pay her rent and bills and also support her mother.
