Jane Wairimu is a woman with dreams and plans of prosperity. She believes in starting small and growing gradually but constantly. When she started her business 15 years ago, she had nothing to her name but faith and trust that she would meet all of her needs and those of her family. Her stall in Molo’s Posta market boasts of very healthy fruits and vegetables that she has neatly laid out to attract customers and people who ply the main road along which the market sits.

She started off selling in Molo’s main market for two years before moving to Posta market 13 years ago. The move was necessary she says for she was not making as many profits as she desired. The competition was also unfavorable for her as the supply was way above the demand in the market. The too many goods chasing too few customers was unfriendly especially for her as she was still new in business and hadn’t won to her business as many customers.

At Posta market, she quickly adapted to the needs of the market and in no time had customers flocking to her stall. Over the years she has earned herself a name in the market and commands quite the market share. She sells fruits and vegetables which she buys from suppliers in Molo’s main market as well as from farmers and other suppliers in Nakuru’s farmers’ market.

She is seeking $200 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to purchase more stock for her business. Her goal is to have her business scale so much so as to enable her to buy a piece of land and start constructing her own home to move out of the rental unit her family and herself live in. She is optimistic as her business has enabled her to take two of her children through school and continues to pay for the school fees of two of them still school going. With the funds from MHML, she will be able to continue moving towards the desired business direction.
