Elizabeth Nyaboke is a very enterprising young lady in her early twenties who is stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing business to be able to cater for her one year old as well as save for the toddler’s future.
The primary school teacher says with what she earns teaching at a start up private school, she will not be able to give her child the life and education she desires for her and hence practices the banana selling business on the side to add onto her earnings.
The young woman is so calm and pleasant and this has won her many clients in the market. In addition, many buy from her for the mere fact that she is the youngest among her colleagues and her determination is hard to miss.
The suppliers of her bananas come from the banana growing region of Kisii and she always goes for the sweetest varieties. She buys them while still green and sells to customers in their various stages of ripening depending on their taste and preferences.
She is seeking $100 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to be able to bring in the December stock. It is the festive season and many families are complete as the school going children are now home for the holidays and this means more mouths to feed which adds to the demand for her bananas.
She intends to stock her stall with varieties that her customers can cook to serve with stew as well as eat as fruit. By the time schools reopen in January 2019, she is optimistic of having doubled her profits from the increased sales to be able to expand her business.
