Dorcas Wangare is a very hardworking woman whose main drive is the well being of her four children. The middle aged widow is both father and mother to them and is not about to see them lack. She is focused on providing them with the best education she can afford so as to secure their futures. For the last fifteen years, Dorcas has been in the second hand warm wear business and it has enabled her to raise her children and provide her family with all their basic needs. Her place is on the farthest end of the Main market where customers can easily access and she has retained this same spot over the years for this particular reason.

She buys her stock from wholesale second hand bales traders in Kitale town and is not shy to spend considerable amounts on bales she knows are worth it. Having traded with a few suppliers, she now knows who to trust when looking for the kind of stock that her customers demand. Her fast moving stock is mainly comprised of sweaters, cardigans, trench coats and jackets. She brings in a very wide variety of sizes as well as different warm fabric so as to meet the demand of as many customers as possible. Besides her set spot in the very busy main market, Dorcas also ventures in other markets in the outskirts of Kitale Town so as to maximize on sales made.

Dorcas is seeking $200 from Moto Hope Micro Lending in order to purchase additional stock for her business. Normally, Dorcas opens a new bale of her wares every Tuesday of the week. However due to the cash flow problems that her business has been facing due to the low sales she has experienced since the covid-19 pandemic she has found herself in much need of a financial boost. With the money, she will be able to bring in new stock with which she will be able to keep her business afloat by meeting the demand that she currently faces thanks to the changing weather patterns that have led to prolonged cold spells and rains in Kitale and its environs.
