Business: Fruits and Vegetables Vendor.
Location:
Posta Market, Molo.
Years in Operation:
7 Years.
Amount needed:
$200.

When life in Nairobi City proved a little too fast, too expensive and gradually unbearable for Cecilia, seven years ago, she sought to shift to a more friendlier place. A place she would feel at home and be happy and content. Molo proved the exact place and she and her family of four made the great move to rural Molo. Here she found that the cost of doing business was much cheaper for her compared to away in Nairobi. Fresh produce from farmers was easily accessible and relatively affordable.

With the help of her husband, a driver with a local transport company, she set up a stall in Molo’s Posta market selling vegetables and fruits: cabbages, spinach, kales, bananas, mangoes, avocados, apples, tomatoes and onions. Most of these she bought directly from farmers enjoying good quality and fresh produce for her customers. This in turn earned her many customers who she has worked hard to maintain by seeking to never disappoint them, offering what is demanded.

She is seeking $200 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to be able to boost her business by purchasing more stock to meet her customers’ demand. The success of her business is essential for her family’s survival for she contributes to the school fees needs of her two school going children as well as their upkeep and household expenses.
