Carol Nyambura is 35 years old, married and is a mother of two. Her clinic opened doors to the public in the year 2011 in a highly populated suburb of Umoja, Nairobi East. She graduated from Kenya Medical Training Institute as a medical officer. She worked in a private hospital where she gained experience before she decided to open her own clinic. Her passion was driven by the fact that she wanted to help the community by bringing affordable health services closer to them since the government hospitals are not within reach in that region.Since inception, the clinic has served thousands of people within the region and has employed six permanent employees who work in the clinic full time.
Carol believes that many regions within Nairobi suburbs have inadequate medical facilities to cater for the ever increasing population. She intends to reach out to many more by opening satellite clinics. To begin with, Carol has identified Githurai 45 a highly populated suburb within Nairobi than has very few medical facilities to cater for the thousands of people living in this region. Carol needs a loan of $2,000 to supplement the amount she has saved to open a satellite clinic in Githurai 45. This will enable many more people have access to affordable medical services in the area.
Through partnerships, Carol intends to open Pharmacies which are affiliated to their clinic to dispense medicines to thousands of people within Nairobi suburbs.
