Anne is a household name in Molo’s Posta market thanks to her very talkative and jovial nature. She is very friendly and her welcoming smile readily invites customers to her stall. For the last ten years, she has run her stall which sells a wide variety of fruits among them apples, mangoes, avocados, oranges, bananas as well as cabbages, spinach and kales. She buys from her suppliers mostly local farmers and fruit wholesale importers the best and choice fruits and vegetables to sell to her customers who appreciate the fact that she goes out of her way to serve them the best.
The mother of two school going children is keen to inculcate the virtue of hard work and determination to her young ones for they are able to see her toil for their school fees as well as all of their needs. Her husband is a farm store keeper in a local green peas producing firm and also contributes towards their upkeep which lightens the burden she would otherwise have to bear alone.
She hopes to one day buy a piece of land to build a home for her own family so that she won’t have to live in rental units which limit her other domestic investments. In her own home she will have land for her family’s kitchen garden and even keep poultry and livestock which she says she wouldn’t keep at the moment even if she was willing and able for lack of space. To this end she is very focused on ensuring that her business scales upwards.
She is seeking $200 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to be able to purchase more fruit stock. The increase in stock will enable her to meet the increasing demands for her fruits from both her old and new customers. An increase in earnings is her surest ticket to savings which will give her the necessary boost to invest and better her life and that of her family.
