Business: Beauty Salon.
Location:
Main market, Molo.
Years in Operation:
10 Years.
Amount needed:
$250.

Anna Wangui is a very cool calm and collected lady who does everything so gently and with so much care. Watching her go about the business of washing her customer’s hair is a very calming affair. She is cautious not to topple her makeshift sink or get water on her customer’s clothes. She is well loved by her customers some of whom come form the outskirts of Molo where they leave quite a number of salons before getting to hers.

She has gentle hands she says pleasantly and this has led her to have very young children for customers for she is able to do their hairs with no tears from them. They love her salon to bits. It goes without saying that her favorite customers’ parents also have their hair done at her salon and this has seen her making hair for whole families over the years. She happily notes that most of her customers only stop coming to her salon when they move to other towns out of Nakuru County.

The mother of two children one already in college and the other about to join says the salon enables her to pay for their tuition as well as  provide their upkeep. Her husband is a car sales person in Nakuru town and their combined savings enabled them to buy a plot of land in Molo’s Michatha village where they have built their home . They have a very healthy looking kitchen garden for their vegetable needs and also rear poultry for their own domestic consumption.

She is seeking $250 from Moto Hope Micro Lending to be able to increase her salon products stock. With these funds, she will be able to buy hair relaxers, dyes, braids, hair extensions and weaves. Her customers will not have to seek the products somewhere else when they come to the salon to have their hair done.
